I-PRF treatment harnesses incredible regenerative properties when it comes to both skin health and hair growth. It can also be used in conjunction with microneedling treatments to further enhance results.

Platelet-rich plasma is a regenerative treatment that simply accentuates the body’s ability to heal itself. The injectable plasma-rich fibrin process begins with a small blood sample being taken, the exact same process that you would expect during a blood test. Plasma, the liquid portion of blood (it’s approximately 55% plasma and 45% red blood cells), is then extracted from the blood using a centrifuge – this device spins to separate the red blood cells from the white blood cells (aka plasma).

Once extracted, this plasma with enhanced integral growth factors is injected back into the skin to increase collagen production or stimulate hair growth.

When your blood is drawn, you will simply feel a little pinch. The same can be said when the plasma is injected back into the skin. It certainly isn’t painful but it might be slightly uncomfortable for brief periods of time.

New fibroblasts, collagen and elastin will be produced by the body. You will soon notice a marked improvement in the texture and quality of your skin. If you have opted to combine this procedure with microneedling, your results will be even better!

As we are using our patients’ own blood products, there is no risk of an allergic reaction. Some side effects that are typically associated with any injectable treatment may occur – some mild pain around the injection site, which may be accompanied by swelling and/or soreness. Some patients also experience some bruising but any side effects will fade within a few days.
