Our doctor-led Weybridge based clinic specialises in bespoke Profhilo bio remodelling to improve hydration, firmness and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Profhilo in Surrey

As we age, our skin naturally begins to lose elasticity as collagen levels drop, leading to fine lines and wrinkles forming in the skin – particularly on the face. At Light Touch Clinic in Surrey, our aesthetic experts deliver Profhilo treatment that helps to improve the appearance of wrinkles in the skin, replace hydration that is lost, and improve overall skin health.

Our Profhilo treatments are completely bespoke, allowing us to plan a treatment around your skin, goals, and clinical suitability.

Our values are synonymous with a belief in the lightest touch to naturally enhance, always sure to embrace the wonder that is you. This treatment is suitable for adults aged 18 and over, following a full consultation.

What is Profhilo?

Profhilo is an injectable made from pure hyaluronic acid. It’s sometimes called an injectable moisturiser, which undersells it. It hydrates deeply, but it also prompts your own collagen and elastin production, so firmness and elasticity improve over the weeks that follow. Technically it’s a skin booster, though its bio-remodelling action is what separates it from the standard ones, and it isn’t a volumising treatment, so it won’t reshape your features or change the contours of your face.

We use Profhilo where skin has become lax or dull, most often the face, neck and décolletage. The aim is skin that looks smoother and more luminous, still recognisably yours.

Profhilo is also a common first injectable. The appointment is short, most people find it very tolerable, and you can get on with your day afterwards. Whatever you’re unsure about, ask at your consultation.

The Benefits

Profhilo is an injectable skin remodelling treatment typically performed in a short clinical appointment to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, primarily on the face. The unique hyaluronic acid formula nourishes and hydrates the skin from within. This results in prolonged stimulation of dermal cells, which improves and restores skin firmness.

Each 2ml syringe contains 64mg of hyaluronic acid, among the highest of any injectable, split equally between two forms: 32mg of high-molecular-weight HA that supports and firms, and 32mg of low-molecular-weight HA that hydrates deeply. The two are bonded thermally using NAHYCO technology, with no chemical cross-linking agents, which is what lets Profhilo spread evenly rather than hold shape like a filler. It’s a wonderful treatment for moderate lines and wrinkles, and our injectors use it to create a completely natural look.

Areas We Treat With Profhilo

Face

Profhilo is most commonly used on facial skin to improve hydration, elasticity, and overall skin quality.

Neck & Décolletage

Among the areas that benefit most from the bio-remodelling effect. See our dedicated section below.

Knees

Our Profhilo treatment can help to restore the firmness of skin tissue on the knee to reduce sagging and wrinkling.

Hands

The skin on the hands often loses volume as we age. Profhilo can be used to improve the long-term health of the skin on the hands.

Arms

Profhilo can be used to improve skin the appearance of the skin on the arms, particularly in areas where the skin has lost its natural firmness over time.

Abdomen

Profhilo is effective at creating a firmer, natural-looking appearance of the skin around the abdomen area. It can also help to improve long-term skin health.

Profhilo for the Neck & Décolletage

Necks age early and creams rarely touch them. The skin here is thinner than the face, loses firmness sooner, and shows it: crepey texture, horizontal lines, that slight looseness that arrives in your forties. This is where Profhilo earns its keep, because it improves the quality of the skin itself rather than adding volume. In a clinical study on neck skin laxity, patients showed statistically significant gains in elasticity and density, and the improvement carried on building for months after treatment.

The standard Bio Aesthetic Points (BAP) pattern was designed for the face, so our injectors adapt the placement for the neck and décolletage, working with the thinner skin so the hyaluronic acid spreads evenly and hydrates from within. Most people treat the face and neck together in one course. That’s what our two-area pricing is for.

Your Profhilo Treatment

Before Treatment

Before your Profhilo treatment at our Surrey-based clinic, we offer a consultation to assess your skin and ensure the treatment is right for you. On the day of your treatment, the skin is thoroughly cleansed, and a series of small injections are administered using the Bio Aesthetic Points (BAP) technique. The procedure takes around 15 to 30 minutes and involves minimal discomfort, with no need for anaesthesia in most cases.

“I use the BAP points as a starting point. Some of my patients are perfect for that approach, and they’re exactly who the method was designed for. But many present with different issues. They may still be right for Profhilo, they just need a more bespoke approach, so I move the points to give the best possible outcome. It all comes down to experience: flexing how we use the product to get the best results for each patient.”

After Treatment

Following treatment, initially you may notice small, raised bumps at the injection sites; these are temporary and usually settle within 24 to 48 hours. Most patients return to normal activities immediately. Over the next few weeks, the hyaluronic acid stimulates collagen and elastin production, gradually improving skin texture, firmness, and hydration, with full results visible at around 4 to 6 weeks.

We provide detailed aftercare instructions and clear guidance on how to contact the clinic if you have any concerns.

How does Profhilo compare?

Dermal fillers add structure and volume where Profhilo improves the skin itself; polynucleotides regenerate and repair, working best on damage like scarring, where Profhilo excels at hydration and firmness; and standard skin boosters hydrate without Profhilo’s bio-remodelling effect on laxity. Dr Geary has written comparisons of each, and if you’re still unsure, that’s what the consultation is for.

Who is Best Suited to Profhilo?

Profhilo is ideal for men and women who are beginning to notice signs of skin ageing, such as fine lines, dullness, or a loss of firmness. It’s especially well-suited to those in their 30s to 60s who want to improve overall skin quality without adding volume or altering facial contours.

We recommend Profhilo to clients looking for natural-looking rejuvenation with minimal downtime. It’s a versatile option for treating the face, neck, and décolletage, and can be combined with our other aesthetic treatments for enhanced results.

Why Clients Choose Light Touch For Profhilo

There’s no shortage of places offering Profhilo in Surrey, and prices vary widely. Here’s what you’re paying for with us. An expert aesthetic doctor or nurse prescriber does the injecting, nobody else. The clinic is CQC-registered, which most aesthetic clinics aren’t, and treatment only ever follows a proper medical consultation. Dr Geary has been injecting for over 18 years; Tatler rates her among the UK’s leading cosmetic specialists. Louise, our nurse prescriber, works the same way she does: carefully, and never in a hurry.

We’re known for restraint. Each plan is built around your skin, not a menu, and the result we want is skin that looks better, not skin that looks done. The photos on this page are real patients, with consent, no retouching, and at consultation we’ll tell you honestly what’s realistic for you, including if Profhilo isn’t the right choice for you.

The Science Behind Profhilo

Profhilo is built on patented NAHYCO Hybrid Technology, which combines high- and low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid without chemical cross-linking agents. Instead of just filling in wrinkles, this special formulation remodels tissue from the inside out by stimulating the skin’s production of four types of collagen and elastin.

A 16-week clinical study of 64 patients used objective instrumental measurements to show significant improvements in facial skin firmness, hydration, and wrinkle depth after two treatment sessions, with results that improved throughout the study.

A separate clinical study on neck skin laxity confirmed statistically significant gains in skin elasticity and density of all subjects, and an increase in the months after treatment. This suggests Profhilo triggers ongoing collagen production rather than simply adding temporary volume.

In terms of safety, a 2024 post-marketing surveillance analysis covering more than one million patients worldwide recorded 371 adverse events, most commonly mild swelling, redness or discomfort at the treatment site. One of the lowest complication rates of any injectable aesthetic treatment.

Profhilo – Frequently Asked Questions

Profhilo is an injectable treatment made of pure hyaluronic acid. Unlike traditional dermal fillers, it isn’t a volumising treatment: rather than adding shape, it acts as a skin booster, improving hydration, elasticity and overall skin quality by stimulating collagen and elastin production. The result is a smoother, brighter complexion.

Profhilo suits many adults aged 18 and over, especially those noticing early signs of skin ageing, such as fine lines, dullness, or a loss of firmness. Treatment would normally be postponed or may not be appropriate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, unwell on the day of treatment, or have an active infection in or near the treatment area.

Please tell us about your medical history, allergies, autoimmune conditions and any medicines or supplements you take, especially medicines that affect bleeding. Your clinician will confirm your suitability at your consultation.

Profhilo has a well-established safety profile and is delivered here by experienced clinicians in a CQC-registered clinic, following a full consultation. As with any injectable treatment, there are risks, which we cover with you before you decide whether to proceed. See the side effects question below for more detail.

As Profhilo is an injectable treatment, there may be some degree of discomfort. However, we are highly experienced in delivering this treatment and only use very fine needles. Light Touch Clinic will offer the option of applying a numbing cream to the treatment site before the procedure, helping to alleviate any sensitivity or tenderness.

While Profhilo is administered through injections like dermal fillers, it works differently. Traditional fillers add volume and shape to specific areas. Profhilo, however, spreads evenly under the skin to enhance texture and hydration without changing the structure of the face.

The treatment involves injecting Profhilo into specific points on the face or body using fine needles. Typically, two sessions are scheduled four weeks apart. Each session is completed within 30 minutes, and requires little downtime. Post-treatment, you may experience slight swelling or redness, which often goes away within a day or two.

Profhilo is versatile and can be applied to areas like the face, neck, décolletage, arms, hands, knees and abdomen. It works especially well on regions exhibiting signs of ageing, such as fine lines, loss of elasticity, or dryness.
Yes, Profhilo revitalises the skin by improving its hydration and elasticity. It reduces the appearance of fine lines and causes a youthful glow, making the skin look firmer and more rejuvenated.

Profhilo has a well-established safety profile and most side effects are mild and temporary. These can include redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising and small raised areas at the injection sites, which usually settle within a few days. Less commonly, infection, inflammatory reactions or persistent lumps can occur. As with other injectable hyaluronic acid treatments, vascular occlusion is a rare but serious complication.

We discuss the expected benefits, alternatives and risks with you before treatment, and you will receive aftercare advice and details of how to contact the clinic if you have concerns. If you develop severe or increasing pain, unusual paleness or changes in skin colour, or any changes to your vision after treatment, contact us straight away so we can assess you promptly.

Yes, Profhilo can be effectively combined with other aesthetic treatments such as dermal fillers. This can produce a more comprehensive rejuvenation effect, addressing skin quality and facial structure for a balanced, natural-looking result. Consult with one of our aesthetic experts to develop a bespoke treatment plan.

We recommend avoiding alcohol for 24 hours after treatment, as well as the 24 hours before. Alcohol widens blood vessels, which can make bruising and swelling worse. After that first day, a drink is fine.

Work backwards from the date. The course is two sessions four weeks apart, and results build for another four to six weeks after the second, so for a wedding or a big event we’d suggest starting 10 to 12 weeks ahead.

That leaves room for any bruising to settle and for results to reach their best. Less time than that? Tell us at consultation. A single session still gives a hydration boost, and we’ll tell you honestly about what’s achievable by your date.

The full outcome will develop gradually and is usually noticeable within 6 weeks, when lines appear reduced. The skin looks firmer and more hydrated. The effects are expected to last between 6 and 9 months.

No, Profhilo is not permanent. The effects last between six and nine months. Regular maintenance sessions are recommended to maintain the improved skin quality and hydration levels.

Improvements in skin hydration and texture are seen within a few days following treatment. However, the full benefits, including increased firmness and reduced fine lines, often become noticeable after the second session, around four to six weeks after the initial treatment.

A standard Profhilo session is relatively fast, usually taking about 30 minutes, depending on the treatment area. This may be ideal for those with busy schedules.

The initial treatment protocol involves two sessions spaced four weeks apart. To maintain the results, it’s advised to have a maintenance session every six months.

At Light Touch Clinic, our Profhilo treatments start at £520, but can vary depending on your individual needs. Book a personalised consultation for the exact cost of Profhilo treatment based on your needs.

We recommend avoiding alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment, as it can increase the risk of bruising, and ensuring the treatment area is clean and free from makeup on the day of treatment.

Please tell us about any medical conditions and all medicines or supplements you take, especially anticoagulants, antiplatelet medicines such as aspirin, or anti-inflammatory medicines, as these may increase bruising. Do not stop any prescribed medication unless advised to do so by the clinician responsible for your care.

Post-treatment, refrain from touching or applying makeup to the treated area for at least 24 hours. Avoid intense exercise, saunas, steam rooms, and excessive sun or heat exposure for 48 hours. These precautions help reduce the risk of side effects and ensure the best results.

Give it time first. Profhilo results build slowly, and the full effect usually isn’t visible until around eight weeks after your first session, well after the second appointment.

Response does vary from person to person, which is one reason we assess your skin carefully at consultation and will tell you beforehand if we don’t think Profhilo is right for your goals. If you’ve completed the course and haven’t seen the improvement you hoped for, contact the clinic, and we’ll review you and talk through the options.

The small raised bumps at each injection point are normal and a sign that the product is sitting where it should before it disperses.

They usually settle within 24 to 72 hours, often sooner. If any bump lasts beyond a week, or becomes painful, red or hot, contact the clinic so we can check them.

Yes. There’s no medical reason you can’t fly after Profhilo, though we suggest leaving 24 to 48 hours if you can, partly so any bumps or swelling settle before you travel, and partly so you’re nearby in those first couple of days if you have any questions.

Planning treatment around a holiday? Mention it at consultation and we’ll time your sessions around it.
