Microneedling – Frequently Asked Questions

There are very few people who aren’t suitable for medical microneedling. If your skin is in need of a boost, you have scars or you are dealing with fine lines and wrinkles, it’s highly likely this is the procedure for you!

However, if you have a clotting disorder and you’re on blood thinners, it may not be ideal. There’s no need to worry, everything will be explained during your pre-treatment consultation.

Dermapen 4 treatments are very safe, especially when they’re performed by the talented and experienced professionals at Light Touch Clinic.

You’ll be pleased to hear that this treatment is virtually pain-free. A numbing cream will be applied beforehand to facilitate this but some patients do not feel as though this is necessary. Ultimately, whether or not you feel any mild discomfort will depend on your pain threshold.

You can expect to see radiant skin and a reduction in fine lines, wrinkles, scarring or acne following your medical microneedling treatment. As your body continues to repair, your skin will start repair tighter and brighter in the days after your procedure.

As with any procedure that punctures the skin, there are some risks but these are minimal with Dermapen. For the first 2 days following your treatment, your skin may feel warm and tender but this should dissipate. Following this, it may seem dry and flaky but this is a natural part of the healing process and it shouldn’t be concerning.

As your skin will be more sensitive during this time, it’s important to ensure you don’t forget to wear a high-factor SPF. Your practitioner will outline all of this with you during your pre-treatment consultation.
