Dermalux
LED Phototherapy Treatment Surrey

Our Weybridge-based clinic specialises in offering rejuvenating phototherapy treatment with the Dermalux LED phototherapy lamp.

LED Phototherapy Treatment in Weybridge

Our skin is constantly exposed to the sun’s damaging UV light, which can cause damage to the skin and accelerate the rate at which it ages. At Light Touch Clinic, our aesthetic experts deliver leading LED phototherapy treatments to reenergise the skin and promote vital skin vitamins and proteins. There is also no damage, heat, or downtime involved!

We use the Dermalux LED phototherapy lamp to deliver precise wavelengths of red, blue and infrared light into the skin at the depth needed to support repair. This targets cells affected by UV radiation and encourages natural renewal.

Dermalux also uses only the highest quality LEDs and advanced LED technology, which means all three wavelengths can be used simultaneously. Our aestheticians tailor each session to deliver the precise energy your skin needs, leaving it noticeably refreshed and revitalised.

LED Light Therapy

The Benefits

By using powerful LED lights to emit red, blue, and infrared light, our LED light therapy penetrates beneath the skin to re-energise skin cells and restore their function. This not only leaves the skin feeling great but leads to better long-term skin health thanks to a lymphatic system boost and an improvement in blood flow to the treated area.

LED light therapy is an incredibly versatile treatment, capable of improving a large number of concerns ranging from stretch marks to deep wrinkles. It is also very effective at controlling and minimising acne breakouts by reducing the build-up of bacteria and congestion.

• Penetrates beneath the skin
• Boosts collagen production
• Improves long-term skin health
• Suitable for sensitive skin

LED Light Therapy Colour Types

Red Light

Promotes the generation of collagen and elastin for skin tightening and lifting. Reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and other indications of ageing.

Blue Light

Reduces flaws, eliminates P. acnes bacteria to prevent breakouts, and alleviates inflamed acne and unpleasant lesions.

Infrared Light

Infrared light is invisible and is effective for use on the surface of the skin as well as penetration of 1-50mm into the body to target the deepest skin cells.

Your LED Light Therapy Journey in Surrey

Initial Consultation & Skin Assessment

For your LED Light Therapy in Surrey, you’ll start with a detailed assessment by one of our experts. We’ll review your skin history and current concerns to determine whether the Dermalux LED phototherapy treatment is the right option for you. We’ll tailor a protocol that fits your skin type, goals, and lifestyle.

The Treatment Session

You’ll recline comfortably under the Dermalux canopy in our relaxing treatment room. Protective eyewear will be provided. The session takes around 30 minutes.

The LED system emits red, blue, and near-infrared wavelengths at the same time, allowing us to produce the best results with minimal treatment times. Each wavelength is carefully calibrated to penetrate to the depths where your skin’s repair and renewal mechanisms operate.

Post-Treatment & Recovery

Immediately after treatment, your skin may feel calm and have a visible “glow”. Because no damage is done to the skin, you can resume normal activity right away. We’ll apply soothing serums, and you’ll leave with specific, thorough aftercare instructions.

Over the next days and weeks, your skin’s renewal processes continue: collagen and elastin production increase, circulation improves, and inflammation is reduced.

Course & Maintenance

While a single session provides immediate refreshment, the best outcomes come from a course of treatments followed by periodic maintenance to prolong results. The exact number will be personalised based on your skin and goals.

The Science: LED Light Therapy

LED phototherapy works through a process known as photobiomodulation – a cellular response in which specific wavelengths of light are absorbed by the mitochondria within skin cells. This causes an increase in ATP (adenosine triphosphate), which is the cell’s natural energy source. This can improve the skin’s capacity to repair itself, control inflammation, and generate healthier collagen and elastin.

Research shows this kind of multi-wavelength LED system is well tolerated and effective, and over 3,000 published articles support a high safety profile with a minimal risk of side effects. There is no heat, no abrasion, and no lasers.

Multiple peer-reviewed studies show improvements in skin tone, clarity, hydration and visible signs of ageing with regular LED phototherapy. Evidence also supports increased microcirculation and lymphatic activity following treatment, both of which can contribute to the “post-LED glow” patients often see right after.

LED is regarded as one of the safest light-based treatments available because it doesn’t rely on thermal energy or tissue damage. It is suitable for most skin types, including sensitive or reactive skin.

LED Light Therapy – Frequently Asked Questions

Dermalux LED can be used to improve the following conditions: lines and wrinkles, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, dermatitis, acne, sun-damaged skin and pigmentation. It is suitable for most skin types and tones and a full consultation at Light Touch Clinic, prior to treatment, will determine if you are an appropriate candidate.

This procedure is a non-invasive treatment that works through the body’s natural ability to absorb light into living cells. Dermalux LED is award-winning and one of Light Touch Clinic’s most favoured procedures. Each practitioner is appropriately trained and undergoes a regular program of refresher training to ensure knowledge and skill is upheld.

The Dermalux LED machine allows you to lie back, relax and enjoy the treatment process. It will deliver a warming sensation that is often described as being as therapeutic as a rejuvenating massage. Therefore, this treatment should not cause you any pain, just a warm feeling inside and out.

No, LED Light Therapy doesn’t increase sun sensitivity. Unlike UV exposure, LED light uses safe, controlled wavelengths to stimulate natural repair processes in the skin. We do, however, always recommend applying SPF daily to protect your skin.
Yes, you can reapply makeup straight after treatment, although many of our clients choose to let their skin breathe for a few hours. There’s no residue or peeling involved, so it’s entirely down to your preference.
LED Light Therapy delivers specific wavelengths of light deep into the skin to trigger natural cellular responses. Red light stimulates collagen and elastin production, blue light kills acne bacteria, and near-infrared light reduces inflammation and accelerates tissue repair. The result is healthier, stronger, more radiant skin without damage or downtime.
Not at all. The treatment is completely painless, there are no needles, no pressure, and no discomfort. Clients often describe it as warm and relaxing, and many even drift off during their session.
We use Dermalux because it’s one of the most advanced LED systems available. It’s clinically proven, medically certified, and trusted by professionals worldwide. Unlike many at-home or lower-grade devices, Dermalux delivers consistent, high-intensity wavelengths for visibly better results.
LED Light Therapy improves skin health over time, but the skin continues to age and respond to external factors. That’s why we recommend regular maintenance treatments. With consistent use, LED therapy supports long-term skin health and visible improvements in tone, texture and clarity.
Yes, we often recommend LED Light Therapy for clients with rosacea or flushing. Red and near-infrared light reduces inflammation, supports vascular repair, and helps strengthen the skin barrier, making flare-ups less frequent and less severe over time.
Yes, LED Light Therapy is just as effective for men. It’s ideal for treating acne, signs of ageing, redness, or even post-shaving irritation. Because it’s quick, comfortable, and has no downtime, many of our male clients choose this treatment to maintain skin health.
We recommend avoiding strong actives like retinol or exfoliants immediately before and after treatment. You should also limit sun exposure and wear daily SPF to maintain results. We’ll provide personalised aftercare guidance to suit your skin.
Most patients are recommended to undergo a treatment course of between 3 and 6 sessions. The results will produce firmer, fuller skin that enhances as the treatment course progresses. A youthful rejuvenation of the skin is produced as the quality of the skin improves and reduces the appearance of a variety of ageing-related conditions.

In some cases, the skin can feel a little sensitive with some slight redness immediately following treatment. This should not be too uncomfortable and will subside within a few hours, so you should be able to carry on with your day as normal.

To date, the risk of more serious side effects or complications from having Dermalux LED is virtually nil.

We use LED Light Therapy to treat a wide range of skin concerns, including acne, rosacea, fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation, sun damage, and dull or uneven skin tone. It also supports skin healing, so we often use it to accelerate recovery after other aesthetic treatments.
Yes, LED Light Therapy is one of the most gentle treatments we offer. It’s ideal for sensitive, reactive, or redness-prone skin because it uses therapeutic light energy, not heat or chemicals. There’s no irritation or downtime, just calm, rejuvenated skin.

Many of our clients notice their skin looks more refreshed and brighter after the first session. For ongoing concerns like acne or ageing, results build over time. We typically recommend a course of treatments for longer-lasting improvements in skin clarity, tone, and texture.

That depends on your skin concern and goals. For general skin maintenance, we usually suggest 6 to 8 sessions. If you’re addressing more persistent issues like acne or rosacea, 10 to 12 sessions may be more effective. We can create a bespoke treatment plan during your consultation that is based on your skin and individual needs.
Yes, we regularly combine LED Light Therapy with other treatments for enhanced results. It works particularly well alongside Hydrafacial, microneedling, chemical peels, and Profhilo. LED helps calm inflammation, supports collagen production, and speeds up post-treatment recovery.
Absolutely. Blue LED light targets acne-causing bacteria to reduce breakouts, while red and near-infrared light calms inflammation and promotes healing. Over time, this combination also helps improve the appearance of post-acne scarring and marks.

No. LED Light Therapy is completely non-invasive, and there’s no recovery time needed. You can return to normal activities immediately after your appointment, which makes it a great option for busy schedules.

Yes, it’s completely safe for all skin tones. Because LED light works on a cellular level without triggering pigment changes or surface trauma, it’s a suitable option whether you have fair, olive, or darker skin.
Each session takes around 30 minutes. You’ll simply lie back and relax while the LED panel works over the treatment area. Many of our clients find the experience very calming and enjoyable, bringing a moment of stillness to their day.
As a precaution, we don’t perform LED Light Therapy during pregnancy. While the treatment is gentle, we prefer to avoid any non-essential procedures during this time. It may be suitable while breastfeeding. We’re happy to discuss your options during a consultation.
